Still Here
Where Spiritus began
Before Spiritus was a roastery, it was an idea called Still Here: coffee tied to second chances. This page honors that origin and says plainly what it became.

The origin
Born beside the coffee pot
Spiritus began where a lot of second chances begin: beside a pot of coffee, in the seasons when a person is putting a life back together. We are not experts on recovery or spirituality; we are enthusiasts who struggle, and the cup in our hands became a quiet place to begin again. Still Here was the founding idea, a coffee that stands with the people doing that work.
The name
Two ways to read it
Still here, as in we made it through, and we are not going anywhere. Still, here, as in be still, be present, be in this moment. Both readings are the point. Resilience and presence, in the same cup.
The promise
100% of Still Here proceeds fund mental health care.
Every dollar of proceeds from Still Here goes to NAMI DuPage, funding support groups, education, and crisis services for individuals and families across DuPage County.
What it became
The idea grew into the whole business
Still Here began Spiritus, and the conviction behind it never left; it got bigger. Today the whole business funds connection: a roastery inside the School of Expressive Arts and Learning, first paid jobs and internships, a cafe where future baristas learn the craft, and fresh roasted coffee hand delivered across DuPage County. The origin is honored every time we roast. The present is where it lives.
